Tempt by Piper Lawson is now live!

He's a single dad and my new boss.
The man is scorching hot, with gorgeous dark eyes and a smile that makes me burn up.
Too bad he's ten years older, with trust issues my psych degree could never unwrap. I shouldn't fall into bed with him, not to mention let my heart get involved. But he makes me feel things I never expected to feel.

She's my son's nanny, and a student at the university where I'm a professor.
Watching her play with my kid, hearing her jokes and imagining how amazing her legs would look over my shoulders is utter torment.
I haven't wanted a woman since my wife died, yet she makes me want things I never thought I'd want again.
I should know better than to pursue this attraction. I need to stay professional.
But she's too tempting.

Tempt is a steamy, swoony, age gap, forbidden romance in the addictive Off-Limits series. This single dad romance novel can be read as a complete standalone!

My Review:
Tempt (Off-Limits Book 4)Tempt by Piper Lawson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kat and Daniel appear to be an unlikely duo but as we got to know them both, we find two souls in search of love and family. For Daniel, life revolves around his on Andy but he is also working to obtain tenure at the college to provide that stable home for his son. Kat has found herself with an empty home as her roommates find love and move out which leaves her a bit lost. When the opportunity presents itself for her to move in with Daniel and Andy to be the nanny, well, it’s an offer she can’t refuse. The chemistry between Kat and Daniel is fun and electric which has a slow burn as both of them are hesitant to take a chance on love. I loved Kat’s fearless and spunky personality and how it helped Daniel find ways to loosen up and realize he doesn’t always have to be the perfect dad, he can just be dad. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Blog Tour: Bayou with Benefits by Erin Nicholas

Bayou with Benefits, an all-new nanny meets single dad small town romance featuring a hot firefighter from New York Times bestselling author Erin Nicholas is out now!

They are friends. Without benefits. Unfortunately.
Michael LeClaire is small-town Louisiana. A firefighter. A single dad.
And Amelia Landry is New York City. A social media influencer. A model.
Sure, she’s his son’s favorite person on the planet.
And yeah, their families spend so much time together it’s hard to remember who shares DNA and who just shares secrets, inside jokes, and a sincere lack of boundaries.
And okay, he’s seen her nerdy side. Her sweet side. Her funny, self-deprecating side.
Fine, yes, resisting this woman has taken a saint’s share of willpower.
But he has to. He just cannot do long-distance. And he can’t have a casual fling with someone he’s known–and will know–forever.
Thankfully, he only has to hide his feelings a few times a year when she visits.
And then, he slips. One time. One spontaneous I-knew-it-would-be-everything kiss and he’s a goner.
Now every time they see each other it’s harder and harder to ignore the heat.
And when she shows up on his doorstep after a car accident changes her entire life, there’s no way he can resist the chance to see if this can last…or if they’ll finally flame out.

“If you don’t want our sisters to think they’re right about everything, you have to quit looking at me like that.”

Michael LeClaire had three choices here.

He could pretend he had no idea what Amelia Landry was talking about, turn, smile nonchalantly, and try to have a normal, casual conversation with her.

That was going to be nearly impossible, of course. This was Ami. There was no being casual around her. He hadn’t been able to pull nonchalant off since he’d first seen her walk down the dock in a lime green bikini the summer she’d turned twenty. But then, eleven months ago, everything had changed and now…yeah, casual was completely off the table.

He’d known she’d be here. Of course. It was her sister’s wedding. She was a bridesmaid. He’d been preparing to see her. Still, it had been three months and the last time…leaving her at that airport had been so much harder than he’d expected. He didn’t think there’d be anything casual about the things he’d end up saying to her tonight if they talked alone.

His second option was setting something on fire so that he would have to don his fire gear and do something with his evening other than watch Ami in her off-the-shoulder peach-colored bridesmaid dress, laughing and dancing and looking fucking stunning while he struggled to remember why they were only friends. As he did every single time she stood too close to him.

The reasons were good. He knew that. The primary one being that she lived in fucking New York City and he lived in Autre, Louisiana and that would just never work out. He had a kid. He was the fire chief here. His entire family was here. He couldn’t move to New York—nor did he want to—and he couldn’t travel there on a regular basis.

Ami was a model. She’d just landed a huge contract. The contract she’d been hoping and working for. She’d moved from Shreveport to New York only three months ago. She wasn’t coming back to Louisiana and also couldn’t be traveling back here on a regular basis.

Fuck New York City.

Yeah, setting something on fire kind of seemed like a great idea.

And then there was his third option: turning, throwing her over his shoulder, taking her straight back to his house, and not letting her out of his bed for a week, whether they could be together long-term or not.

Which would only make all of this—the wanting her, the thinking about her, the missing her—so much worse.

He wasn’t going to be able to do any of those three things.

He was screwed.

So, he sucked in a deep lungful of oxygen and turned, deciding to go with his fourth option—just praying to not fuck everything up. “Am I that obvious?”

Ami smiled up at him. “I just really think it’s unfair that they’re assuming things that I didn’t actually get to experience.”

He shook his head. “Don’t.”

“Don’t what? Talk about how Charlie and Naomi are assuming their matchmaking worked and we spent the entire weekend you were in New York in bed together?”

“Ami,” he said, his voice low with warning.

“Hey, you’re the one looking at me like you’ve seen me naked and want to again,” she said. “Don’t blame me.”

He tossed back the rest of his drink, wished it was alcohol and not just soda, reminded himself that staying completely sober while Ami was in town for the first time since New York was a really, really good idea, and said, “That’s not how I’m looking at you.”

She put a hand on her hip. “Then how would you describe the way you’ve been watching me from across the room but totally ignoring me whenever we’re close enough to talk?”

“Like I’ve been jerking off practically every night for the past three months because I didn’t get you naked, and like since you got back to town I’ve been constantly about ten seconds away from picking you up, taking you home, and tying you to my bed for the next week or two.”

Okay, so even without alcohol he was going to be dangerously inappropriate. And honest. Just as he’d feared.

Her eyes went wide.

Then she grinned. “Yes. You’re right. That’s a much better, more specific, description.”

My Review

Bayou With Benefits (Badges of the Bayou #2)Bayou With Benefits by Erin Nicholas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It’s taken me a few days to write this review. I was blown away by the beauty and depth to this story and wasn’t sure what to say to help other readers. Ami has been in love with Michael for years but the age difference and the fact she lives in a different city has given Michael a reason to avoid admitting his attraction to her. What a great tap dance these two do around each other. When Ami is in a car accident, this really is a pivotal moment for Ami and her future but also for Michael and his realization that life can change in a moment. I love Michael’s commitment and love for his family and town, he is driven to take care of everyone but that can also hinder his relationships. After the accident, Ami realizes she needs to change the career path she was on which is inspiring and wonderful. When these two finally allow themselves to embrace their feelings, the passion and chemistry is electric. I had so many fantastic surprises in this journey and made me want to visit Autre and hang out with this couple. For me, this was just wow! I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Cover Reveal & Preorder: Promised Love by Vikki Jay

Vikki Jay has revealed the cover for Promised Love!

Releasing November 25, 2022

Getting stuck sharing a honeymoon suite with a hot, ex-NAVY Seal sounds like it should be a good time. Except Lukas is my husband and we haven't spoken in years.

Until today, we were living separate lives, waiting to get out of this arranged marriage. But my family's meddling has pushed us together. And now he's here filling out his t-shirt just a little too well and staring at me just a little too intensely.

Don't even get me started on the cleft on his chin that pops up every time he smiles. The man has temptation written all over him.
We manage to stay out of each other's way–mostly. Until the tension boils over one night in a car.
I straddle his lap. I press my lips to his. I feel his body against mine. And that one hot moment has me offering something I never thought I would.

What happens in the honeymoon suite, stays in the honeymoon suite.

But what Lukas and I share in that room is so much more than just physical. With every kiss, every caress, every touch, I start forgetting our reality, and wonder if we've got it all wrong.
We planned our divorce four years ago. But what if our plans have changed?

Meet Vikki Jay

In those early morning hours when I'm alone, my imaginations run wild and I pen down the life of people living in my head. All my life, I have lived in small towns in different parts of the world. The friendships, the camaraderie that people share around me inspired me to create Cherrywood and St. Peppers, the two towns where all my stories take place.

I write about beautiful coincidences, finding love in unexpected places and times, and fighting hard to get that happily ever after.

I reject to read, see, write anything that does not promise a HEA. My characters are sexy yet shy, strong yet reserved...

I am married to a man whom I fell in love at an age of 15, proposed him at an age of 23 and married at an age of 30. He has no clue what I write or do when he is snoring quietly in the next room.

My Review
The Fall of Us (Love in Isolation Book 5)The Fall of Us by Kennedy Fox
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I enjoyed my trip to Vermont with Oakley and Finn. I love Oakley’s passion for her art and am impressed with her skills. When she arrives in Vermont, she is picked up by the grumpiest guy, Finn. Finn is devoted and focused on the family apple orchard. He likes his life to follow a particular routine so having to show Oakley around definitely pushes him out of his comfort zone. When his ex-girlfriend shows up and wants to get back with him, he makes a bold move and introduces Oakley as his girlfriend. Of course, this requires them to spend even more time together and just maybe, Finn will realize that taking another chance on love is worth it. I had fun with this couple. Oakley’s spirit and energy are a great match to Finn’s grumpy manner. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

New Release & Review: The Perfects by Rachel Van Dyken

Everything was perfect.
Until it wasn't.

The Perfects by Rachel Van Dyken is now live!

Find out what happens when their perfect image breaks in #1 New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken's steamy new adult romance.

Everything was perfect.
Until it wasn't.

Until my family took on a foster girl and placed her across the hall from me. A charity case to look good and a person who should have never existed in my world.
I kissed her to get her to stop talking, and then I kissed her again because I liked the taste of her words--I liked her.
It was our secret until we got caught--that night changed everything.

We became strangers living in the same house, seeing the same ghosts of our past mistakes, but I can't stop thinking about us, about those forbidden moments.
I pretend to hate her, I tell her I'll never forgive her, and then Quinn, my ex-best friend, steps into the picture. I can't tell if he actually likes her or if he has a death wish and just likes pissing me off, but what do I say? Stay away from my foster sister?
She's mine?
I've already had her?
Saying that to him would expose what we were and ruin everything.
We're all three of us living multiple lies, and eventually, I know our ivory tower of perfection is going to come crashing down.

He knows my secrets.
I know his.
And now she knows both.

She wants.
He wants.
But I always—always get what I want.

And what I want is the girl, no matter what it may cost me.

My Review
The PerfectsThe Perfects by Rachel Van Dyken
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What an intense and captivating story. This is a hard review to write since I don’t want to give away too much that you, as the reader, need to uncover by diving into this story. Ambroise seems to have it all as his father works to provide everything for him with the plan for him to take over the family business and legacy. Mary-Belle has lived a life questioning if she would have food to eat that day. When her latest foster placement has her living with Ambroise’s family, she isn’t sure how to accept all the wealth she is suddenly living in. Now these two are unlikely roommates but will they figure out they have more in common than either expected. I felt all the emotions with both of these characters as they navigate their senior year of school and all the craziness that life throws at them. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

New Release & Review: Matchmaking the CEO by Layla Hagen

Release Date: October 7

What’s a girl to do when her life implodes but start all over again?

I won’t let anyone get in the way. Not
a grumpy CEO, or his matchmaking grandmother.

Unemployed and heartbroken, I begin my own event-planning
business. My first client wants me to plan her ninetieth birthday party at her
grandson’s estate in Martha’s Vineyard.

As I prepare to throw her the celebration of a lifetime,
I run into a huge problem. Jake Whitley is insufferable.

He insists we travel on his private plane and immediately
pushes all my buttons—and I push his right back. The problem? He looks so hot in
his custom-made suit that I want to wipe that smirk off his face with a kiss.

It’s when illness strikes his grandfather and Jake
decides to move from New York to Boston to run the family business that I see a
chink in his armor.

Instead of pushing each other’s buttons, we’re sharing
lots of gelato.

Instead of fighting, we’re kissing.

Then my ex starts trouble, and I see yet another side of
Jake that’s protective and caring.

Two things I’m sure of: Jake Whitley is an amazing
kisser… and he can’t be mine.

But
Jake has other ideas. And so does his grandmother.

Natalie finds herself reinventing her career and decides to embrace event planning since she enjoyed helping her mother with her event planning business. Her first job has her planning a 90th birthday party. When her client suggests having the party at her grandson’s home on Martha’s Vineyard, Natalie is excited to take on this challenge. What she doesn’t expect is a grouchy and stubborn billionaire that wants to take all of her fun away. Jake likes order in his life and is known for sticking to his plans no matter what. When he meets Natalie, he encounters a breath of fresh air that challenges all his ordered plans while she pushes him out of his comfort zone. I love that Natalie stands her ground with Jake as they build a friendship. Jake is a gentleman and wants to take care of her as he realizes he has feelings for her, especially when her ex-boyfriend keeps stalking her. Natalie has been taking care of herself for so long, she struggles with letting him help her. I had fun experiencing this couple’s journey to find love.

Blog Tour & Review: Irresistible Trouble by Pippa Grant

Title: Irresistible Trouble
Series: Copper Valley Fireballs #4
Author: Pippa Grant
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: September 29, 2022

BLURB

I, Cooper Rock, baseball god, worshipper of women, hometown hero, beloved son and brother, and owner of a well-deserved ego, have always reached for the stars. Usually in baseball.

In love? Nah. When you’ve played the field as much as I have and haven’t been bit by the bug, you’re immune.

Or so I thought until she walked back into my life.

Waverly Sweet. Pop music sensation. Universally beloved for good reason. She’s freaking awesome. Kind. Funny. Talented. Sexy as hell. Real. And still completely out of my league.

But I have been hit by the Waverly Sweet tour bus of love, tumbled head over heels, and come up in a field of Waverly-scented roses. This is it. She’s my one and only, and this time, I won’t screw it up.

I’m cleaning up my reputation. I’m ignoring the doubters. I’m channeling everything I have into proving to her that I can be the man she deserves.

No matter what else I have to sacrifice for love.

Including baseball.

Irresistible Trouble is a hilarious home run of a romcom about a baseball player whose ego is catching up to him, a pop star who’s a bit of a hot mess when the cameras aren’t looking (and sometimes when they are), and the kind of family and teammates that everyone deserves… in small doses. While this laugh-out-loud romance stands alone with a sweet-swoony HEA, you won’t go wrong if you dive into the entire Fireballs series, starting with Jock Blocked, first. And for more Cooper Rock cameos, check out Master Baker (a standalone featuring Cooper’s brother) and the Bro Code series.

Irresistible Trouble (Copper Valley Fireballs #4)Irresistible Trouble by Pippa Grant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m still smiling a day after I finished Cooper and Waverly’s story. Both of them have demanding careers and are passionate about the work that they do. They had a brief encounter 8 years ago and forces along with where they were in life pushed them apart. When Cooper crosses paths with Waverly at one of her concerts, well, something is awakened in him and he realizes that he doesn’t want to walk away from her again. Waverly had her heart crushed which means Cooper has his work cut out for him to get her to give him a second chance. Both of them have to face some hard truths about their chosen careers and what their hearts truly desire. They had me laughing, crying and swooning. I want to hang out with this couple.
