Eliza finds herself trapped by family obligation and the structure of London society. She longs for her family home in the country where she could enjoy riding her horse and writing stories for her father’s newspaper. When her father’s business became more successful, this brought the entire family to London and opened up opportunities for everyone to become part of the London elite which her mother is thoroughly enjoying. But with this success was also a deal with between her father and his business partner that would drastically change Eliza’s life. As she works to find her footing in this new world, she encounters the Duke, Johnny Winters, who is supposed to be dead. A mystery unfolds that her reporter mind has to unravel. Johnny has his own agenda when he returns to London but finds himself unable to stay away from intriguing Eliza. I loved the attraction and struggle that Eliza and Johnny went through as their chemistry and connection grew. I enjoyed that this story was only told from Eliza’s point of view, something I haven’t read in a while. Yes, there are some elements I wish I knew more about but she wouldn’t have that information to provide and even though I’m curious, I felt like this complete journey developed and resolved perfectly for Eliza and Johnny. I definitely had my love of historical romances rekindled by this book. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Completely captivated me as I devoured this exciting tale of romance set in the art world. Becker finds himself at a loss after Eleanor leaves. Eleanor isn’t sure what to think as she returns home to find some clarity. This duo is electric, a wonderful balance. As Eleanor reenters Becker’s world, will he really step away from all his unique methods for acquiring art? Can Eleanor really handle all of Becker’s truths? I had fun as if I was watching a movie while I experienced this story. The intrigue, passion, mystery, all held me captive. And well, I think it’s hard not to fall for Becker! Dive in and hang on for an incredible ride. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

‘I’m told you’re settling in well,’ he says, but I still refuse to look at him. ‘Yes, very well, thank you,’ I answer, giving myself a cheer for my professionalism. Then I move to the right. And so does he. ‘Good,’ he says quietly. ‘Very good.’ Biting my lip, desperately wrestling off the urge to take a quick peek at him, I step to the right again. And so does he. ‘Excuse me.’ It takes everything in me to maintain my strength. He’s like a magnet to my eyes. Nothing as stunning as him should be ignored. Immune? I laugh to myself. I don’t think that’s possible. It’s a long, long while, but I eventually see his smart brogues shift. ‘My lady,’ he says quietly. Damn it. I chance a peek up at him as I scoot past, catching the signs of a cheeky smirk. Damn him. ‘Are you going to continually try to get a rise out of me?’ ‘A rise?’ He peeks down at his groin area, and then glances back up, his grin now mild. ‘Too late.’ My eyes naturally drop to his groin, and he chuckles as he turns and saunters away. My head cocks in admiration, his lovely backside my focus. It really is a sight to behold, his sexy swagger executed to a T. ‘Stop looking at my arse,’ he shouts over his shoulder. I cringe. Holy shit, I need to find some control. He’s my boss, for Christ’s sake. ‘I was doing no such thing.’ ‘You know,’ he calls, ‘I’m pretty sure I could make a complaint to HR.’ ‘What’s your complaint?’ I ask on a frown. ‘That you’re undressing me with your eyes.’ He doesn’t entertain me with another glimpse of his lovely face, just carries casually on his way, disappearing through the large doors into the Grand Hall.

I devoured this book. From page 1, I was intrigued with Eleanor’s story as she embarks on a new start in London while feeling guilt at leaving her father’s dream behind. She is coping with his loss but knows maintaining his ‘antique’ shop isn’t the life she wants. What he collected aren’t really antique’s but through her love of reading, she found a world in old things that she desperately wants to be part of. While job hunting, she bumps into a frustrating yet sexy man. When he is suddenly her boss, she isn’t sure what to do. Becker Hunt is all kinds of wrong while creating all kinds of right feelings inside her. Becker pushes all of her buttons as he attempts to push her away while trying to keep her close. Truly frustrating but enthralling all at the same time. Becker delivers a sexy alpha male with a flair for adventure. As Eleanor is let into his secret world, she learns about his true passion for collecting things, something they share. But knowing Becker won’t open his heart, is there any way for Eleanor to protect hers? I am loving the quest for antiques and being introduced into this amazing world through this incredible couple. So excited to see how this adventure will end. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
