Ryann and Alix have one of those incredible one-night hook-ups with an amazing connection until Ryann finds out that Alix plays hockey for the team her father coaches. For Ryann, her father Vik hasn’t really been a great dad so anyone connected to him is a hard pass. But when Vik reaches out with a job opportunity, it’s hard for her to pass up this chance even though she will also be seeing Alix all the time. Alix can’t believe Ryann threw him out so when she shows up at the practice arena, he’s not going to let her walk away again. But convincing her to be more than friends proves to be a challenge. I enjoyed how this relationship evolved as they navigated the challenges each had to face from family and work. I appreciated how they really got to know each other and became good friends. There is a naturalness to their connection along with the off the charts sexy chemistry. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

She has also struggled finding the right guy so she gets very frustrated when she keeps getting setup with Gil. Gil is working to free his parents from the Beyond so he is investigating different witches and his current assignment is Tilda. What neither expect is the incredible connection they have which seems to heighten Gil’s magic. This sets them on a crazy and wonderful journey that had me captivated. Tilda doesn’t want to like Gil but life has a different plan for them. Then Tilda desperately needs his help when something goes horribly wrong when her sister is casting a spell. Can Tilda and the other misfits fix what went wrong and save her family? I really didn’t know what to expect from this story when I dove in but what I found was a magical world that is full of surprises that swept me away. Paisley and Lucas have an incredible spark that neither can ignore. But long-term relationships aren’t something Lucas does yet he can’t seem to walk away from Paisley. Every time he seems to be ready to move forward, the demons from his childhood emerge setting him back. These two are electric together which had me rooting from them to find a happily ever after. For Paisley, she needs Lucas to deal with the trauma he suffered growing up. I applaud Paisley’s courage to step away and build a new life to protect her heart while Lucas heals. Travis however won’t give up and eventually, these two find a chemistry that neither expected even if it’s only for a week. Bonnie gets a bigger shock after Travis leaves when she ends up pregnant. As she returns to Chicago, she works to contact Travis who had said he would call her after he left but never did. Once again, Travis needs to make amends as they both work to find a plan to co-parent. I loved that Bonnie wasn’t a push over which had Travis using all his talents to show her that love is possible for them. Bonnie is surprised by how the Maxwell family embraces her and welcomes her to the family based on the challenges she faced from her own parents. She has to confront her fears of everyone that she loves leaving her to truly allow herself to be happy and accept that a relationship is possible with Travis.
