Shattered Truths by H. Hunting

There is so much to love about this story. BJ and Winter are unexpected while yet perfect for each other. BJ is passionate about figure skating and has grown up being able to do whatever he wants due to his parents success. Winter lives a very different life. She has worked since she was able to help her family pay the bills and buy food. Her one true love is hockey and she is fabulous at it. She is always working whether it’s her studies for school, her job or getting a chance to be on the ice. When BJ and Winter meet, well, it seems BJ has found someone that he wants to learn more about, something that hasn’t happened for him. Winter loves the opportunities that she stumbles into but she won’t hope or believe that something good could happen for her. Now, I don’t want to give anything else away other than these two have a great chemistry and connection. They are able to balance each other while being real with each other at the same time. The road isn’t easy as they both work toward dreams that at times, seem impossible. The beauty is that they just might have found the one person that can make that road a bit sweeter along the way. I was truly captivated with their journey. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

This is a fun and surprising romance for me. I appreciated that Ivy is a powerhouse in the tech industry and loves to create apps to help people work smarter. When her last company went bust, well she feels like a failure and returns home to figure out her next steps. Heath is passionate about coding but isn’t really driven to have his own company. He needs someone like Ivy to help his latest project and is excited by the possibilities when he meets her. These two seem like an unlikely duo with Heath always optimistic and Ivy is always looking at the challenges ahead. But together, they prove to be a powerful duo. The nuances to this journey added a lot of depth and drama to the story. There are some unexpected twists which really helped them build a relationship while they both are figuring out what they want out of life and a relationship. What a fun and refreshing romance. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Kimberly and Drake gave me enemies to lovers vibes. Drake is hired as the new general manager for the Maxwell Hotels but his initial interactions with Kimberly have him questioning her work ethic. Kimberly is a bit frustrated with Drake’s demands before he even starts. She is loving being back in Chicago and working with her family. She loves hospitality and ensuring that their guests have wonderful experiences at the hotel. Their first meeting is interesting while also showing that there is a spark between them. When Drake suggests that their first expansion be in Aspen, Kimberly and Drake end up traveling together to check out the property and the area to see if this is a good fit for the company. Of course, it’s Valentine’s day which means the city is packed and they end up with only 1 hotel room. The more time these two spend together, the more they realize that they have similar work habits and may have more in common than either expected. Kimberly is very hesitant to date someone she works with but Drake finds himself drawn to her and knows he needs to break through her walls to make something happen. I had fun with this couple as they navigated working together and the attraction that they can’t deny. I also love getting to visit and check-in on the entire Maxwell family. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
