Nils and Sierra have a complicated history. Years ago, Sierra’s mom enlisted Nils assistance to help Sierra at her new college. But Nils is a hot-head and what started out as a great friendship/tutoring situation, crashed and burned. Now, Nils finds himself in a publicity nightmare and getting a girlfriend to show he’s found happiness and cooled down his temper is needed to repair the damage. Sierra has broken free from her controlling father and is pursuing her passion in architecture but the last week has been crap. She’s almost out of money and desperately needs a job. At her best friend’s wedding, there is her former step-brother, Nils, and during the reception he makes a proposition that she can’t pass up in her desperate state. Now, Sierra has always had a crush on Nils but Nils doesn’t do commitment. As these two allow themselves to embrace a fake relationship, we get to experience all of those quiet moments that show, deep-down, they love each other. Sierra knows what she wants. But Nils is another story, he is still battling demons from his past, will he realize that loving someone isn’t a burden? I enjoyed their journey and felt it naturally unfolded for them. The cast around them is wonderful as well adding so many beautiful moments along the way. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
