Charlotte and Perry are like chess pieces to their families but they are choosing to make the best out of their arranged marriage. I was excited for how the twist of Charlotte’s ex would be woven into this new relationship. I love how these two embraced the chemistry that they didn’t expect and found common ground. What I didn’t love was Perry’s insecurities with Charlotte and how rude he would be to her though I do get it. These two are from families that really don’t get along so his family, the Constantine’s, will always question her family. It also shows Perry’s struggle with his place in the family. I will say, Charlotte does a great job of handling his whiplash behavior and works to solidify that these two can have something real together. Yes, we end on a crazy intense cliff hanger that has me anxious for book 3.
