As she works to find her footing in this new world, she encounters the Duke, Johnny Winters, who is supposed to be dead. A mystery unfolds that her reporter mind has to unravel. Johnny has his own agenda when he returns to London but finds himself unable to stay away from intriguing Eliza. I loved the attraction and struggle that Eliza and Johnny went through as their chemistry and connection grew. I enjoyed that this story was only told from Eliza’s point of view, something I haven’t read in a while. Yes, there are some elements I wish I knew more about but she wouldn’t have that information to provide and even though I’m curious, I felt like this complete journey developed and resolved perfectly for Eliza and Johnny. I definitely had my love of historical romances rekindled by this book. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
