Josie and Jacob gave me a great enemies-to-lovers romance. For Josie, being a single mother has shown her that she is strong and can handle any challenge thrown her way. When her aunt leaves her the horse rescue that she created, which gives Josie the chance to reignite her passion for horses. Jacob is the local veterinarian and is skeptical that Josie will be able to handle running the rescue while always working full-time and being a mom. These two didn’t make it easy even though their love of animals gave them a wonderful connection, Jacob kept saying or doing the wrong thing which would frustrate Josie. Will these two wake up and realize that together is always better? Josie’s daughter, Everly, is a fabulous support for her mom with her excitement for the horses and rescue. Wonderful second chance romance. Aurora and Nick met while he was on vacation and shared an incredible night. For Aurora, she ended up pregnant but so many amazing things have happened in her life, the biggest being accepted into the Kingston family. Nick is the fixer for his families’ hotels so he lives his life from hotel to hotel as his job takes him everywhere. Being at his brother’s movie premiere, he is surprised to see Aurora across the room. As they work on how Nick will fit into their daughter Leah’s life, they know the spark they initially had still exists. But for Aurora, trusting that people will stay in her life is hard after her parents left her. Is Nick up for the challenge to show Aurora that people will stay? Can Aurora overcome her fears to have the family her heart has always desired? I love how this journey unfolded for both Aurora and Nick along with the spunky daughter that they created. Declan is the fixer in the Maxwell family which he carries into his career as an attorney. Sadly, he deals with too many divorces which has him cynical that long-term relationships are possible. He bought an amazing house but it has one flaw, the sexy tenant, Liz, who likes to dance in the middle of the night. Liz is focused on her dream to open her own bakery which has her working multiple jobs to earn enough money to make it happen. When she gets home late from bartending, she uses dancing to unwind but she never knew this could rile up her broody landlord. This relationship has a very rocky start yet there is chemistry that both try to fight. I love how this couple gets to know each other and learn that they may not be as different as they thought. Both are driven and confident with a strong focus on their families. I loved all the twists and turns along the way as well as getting to spend more time with the other Maxwell family members to check-in on how their lives are moving forward. For me, I had fun experiencing Declan getting pushed out of his comfort zone. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
