New Release & Review: Grand Escape by Rachel Blaufeld

Grand Escape by Rachel Blaufeld is now live!

With sultry beach vibes, Caribbean tunes playing in the background, and the smell of coconut and money all around, welcome to the Grand Escape.

Blond and beautiful Rylan needed to escape her life, so she ran off to a job in paradise. Surrounded by fresh salt air and the ocean waves lapping in the background, she now mixes drinks better than any other bartender at the Grand Escape.

It's the perfect situation for a commitment-phobic woman, who wants to be nothing like the family she was born into. Each week, guests check in, spend time at her bar, and then go home.

Until the day some heartsick jerk who checked in under just his initial and last name sits down at her bar.

With sad eyes and a gritty voice, A. Stern is more than Rylan bargained for, so it's a good thing she no longer gets tangled up with men. But this lawyer by day, alpha by night, keeps pushing his way through the barricade she's built around her heart.

Thinking she knows why he's heartbroken, she's determined not to be his next victim, but he continues to shatter all her misconceptions.

With only a week until his vacation ends, can she avoid falling for the guy at the end of her bar? And can he manage to capture the heart of the only woman who has made him want to try again?

My Review:
Grand EscapeGrand Escape by Rachel Blaufeld
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rylan has built a solid life for herself as a bartender in the Cayman Islands. She needed to break away from her parents preset path and obligations. What she doesn’t expect is for Adam to show up at her bar one day which has her bending her rules. Adam is all about his work and the guilt he carries about his sister’s death. Forced to take a vacation by his family, he ends up sitting down at Rylan’s bar. He encounters a super-sassy, funny and smart woman that wakes up feelings he had lost. But Rylan has her own rules and expectations and doesn’t believe there can be anything more than a temporary fling. Will Adam be able to convince her that love is possible? That she is worth fighting for? I loved the slow burn to their relationship. They both had to deal with the scars of their pasts before they could find a path to a future together. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Meet Rachel Blaufeld

A recent poll of her readers described Rachel as insightful, generous, articulate, and spunky. Originally a social worker, Rachel creates broken yet redeeming characters. She's been known to turn up the angst like cranking up the heat in the dead of winter.

A devout coffee drinker and doughnut eater, Rachel spends way too many hours in local coffee shops, downing the aforementioned goodies while she plots her ideas. Her tales may all come with a side of angst and naughtiness, but end as lusciously as her treats.

Rachel lives around the corner from her childhood home in Pennsylvania with her family and two beagles. Her obsessions include running, coffee, basketball, icing-filled doughnuts, antiheroes, and mighty fine epilogues.
