My heart bolts, the pained organ beating a frantic rhythm. “I’m not scandalized.” My breathy voice says otherwise. “I just didn’t expect you to manhandle me.”

“Are you sure?” he purrs.

I won’t react. I refuse.

“Then what would it take to scandalize you, little Pip?”

Fabulous best friends to lovers romance. Piper and Rome have known each other for years and share everything about their lives with each other. The one thing they’ve never shared is their true feelings that are more than friendship. When Piper dreads attending a company trip because of an ex, Rome volunteers to be her fake boyfriend as her personal buffer. What Piper doesn’t know is that Rome is going to finally act on what he’s been hiding for years, that he loves her. For Piper, she isn’t comfortable with casual flings and can’t imagine that Rome, the player, would want something long-term with her. As she works to protect her heart, Rome pulls out all the stops to win her over. What a wonderful couple with excellent chemistry that gave me a great escape. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
