What an intense and unpredictable second chance romance. Ophelia has worked hard to build a career as a journalist but when her mother got sick, she had to drop out of college. Then an opportunity to do an article on Prince Julius which landed her on a bachelor show. She never expects that she would fall for Julius while working on her story and when he finds out, well, they both end up with broken hearts. Three years later, a new job suddenly puts her right back in Julius’s path. Julius is shocked to see Lia but isn’t surprised that his step-grandmother, Raquel, has hired her to try and interfere with his latest business deal. The problem is that his feelings for Lia are still there which delivers an intense encounter in an elevator. Since Raquel wants Lia to seduce Julius, she suggests that they pretend to have a relationship to keep Raquel out of his business plan. But can they really pretend when there is distrust and almost hate hanging over them from Lia’s betrayal? Even more captivating is the fact then when they are along, they can’t keep their hands off each other. Lia and Julius gave me a sexy and intense journey to love. They both have to face some hard truths before they can really be open to accepting where life is leading them. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
